Is 37 too late to consider a career in nursing or x ray technician?

I currently have an assoicates in the business management field.

Too old? HA!!!

In my graduating class, over half of them were over 30, and the oldest woman turned 60 right before graduation.

You're only as old as you feel. It's never too late.

Don't be silly, it's never too late to take on a new interest or career.

Imagine yourself at the age of 50. You have 13 years of nursing experience under your belt and you are HAPPY. You changed careers at a difficult time, but your desire was not impossible.

Our only limits are the limits we place upon ourselves. Go get it Nurse Chuckie!

no problem with either career.............

No it's not, and I pray your in it for the right reasons here. We need more compassionate folks in the health care fields. Peace and the best to you in your future endeavors.

Not at all! I know people who went into nursing in their 40s, and I have a sister your age who is currently going through her 1st year.

I dont think at all. I am in schoo for nursing, and tons of older people go back as a second career.

It is never to late to go back to school. My husband graduated at the age of forty. He has worked in many different places in the hospital. They have offered him a job in management and right now he is considering this job.

I worked with some girls that did not go back to nursing until they were in their fifties to get their RN degree

Take Care and Good Luck with your decision!

In 10 years you will be 48.
in 10 years, you will be 48 whether or not you consider such a career move.
In 10 years,will you be saying," I'm glad I did ," or " I wish I would have.""
Next question?

When I went through x-ray school, in the early '90s, we had a total of six students, in my particular class. Three of them were over 40 years old! I turned 21 years old about 2 months into the program, and I was definately the baby of the group. Best wishes!

BTW, I have a lot of information regarding radiologic technology programs, if you would like me to post it....

No way! It's never too late to get an education!

Going into nursing or becoming an x ray technician would be great to go back to school for. You would also have an advantage in nursing....there are always jobs available in nursing and there is a nursing shortage right now in this country. Plus I read in a nursing magazine at work (I work in a hospital) that nursing schools are looking to broaden their scope as to recruit more male students. Apparently nursing is trying to get away from the idea that it is a "female only" profession, so they're wanting to get more guys in the field. I don't know know so much about being an x ray tech, but I'm sure the job opportunities are out there. So go for it - you'll be so proud of your accomplishments in the end. Good luck and hope this helps.
