What are the hours for a Professional Medical Assistant? |
im thinking of taking a class for a Professional Medical Assistant and I was woundering what are the hours for most jobs and whats the hourly wage?thanks any help will be great=] usually 9-5... depending on what type of office youre working in... also... I spent 5,000 on MA school, to get a 9.00 an hour job.... NOT WORTH IT> They really work hard you can work double shifts alot of the time 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. I was a med assistant for an orthopod for 20 years, I usually worked from Monday-Friday 8:30-6:30 half day on Wednesday. When I retired I was making 24.50 an hour, plus insurance, plus retirement, 4 weeks vacation Usually 9 to 5, except in emergency situations in the doctor's office. Then, you may have to work some overtime. It depends on where you work. A traditional doctor's office will likely have traditional office hours, 8-5, 9-5 Monday-Friday, something like that. Urgent care clinics also hire Medical Assistants; they are open much longer hours, often including weekends. well when i was a MA, i worked 730-4 The hours are usually between 6 am and 8 pm Monday -Friday and generally, MA's work in clinics. A lot of family practice or pediatric clinics has Sat hours for a half day. Usually you rotate with the other MA's in the clinic. yes the first answer is true |
