What's it like to be a nurse?

What does the job entail? What are the pros and cons? I'm thinking of becoming a nurse.

Well being a nurse takes a certain mind set. Myself, I had always wanted to be a nurse and I love my job. As for what it all entails is first schooling. Depending on where you live and whether you are going for LPN or RN will determine how long your schooling will be. As for the pros and cons, it all depends on what type of environment you decide to work in. Nursing is not a cake walk job. You are constantly learning everyday. You learn more about people, and how they react in different situations. Most importantly of all, You have to have heart. They will tell you in school to not get emotionally attached to your patients, if you follow this you will not be a good nurse. Nurses in this day and age need lots of heart. It makes the difference in how you take care of your patients.
