How much does a receptionist make working for a cosmetic surgeon typically?

I currently am working for a floorcoverings store making about $38,000 a year, will I be taking a salary cut if I start looking for a job in a medical office as a receptionist?

It depends on where you live I am sure, but at the clinic I work at they make around $30,000 a year. I have feeling that no matter where you live you will you probably will make less than $38000 a year. Depending on your background and education level, maybe you could look into being an office manager at a medical office.

probably....i think 38k is good for a receptionist position

You could negotiate for a slightly better amount due to your experience.
