Help me decide what is right between 2 jobs!!? |
I have been working as a clerk for 9 months at on oil company. i really like the job except we have a terrible mean bully as a manager. She has made everyone of us women there miserable. I got offered an awesome job at a doctor's office with better pay and better hours. I turned in my two weeks notice on week ago and they accepted. Then out of the blue they come to my office and tell me they are demoting the bully (office manager) and offer me her job. I had one night to decide. I told them i wld take it, but i felt pressured and honored that they wanted me. Now I'm having second thoughts, I think my heart belongs to the doctors office. I would not be making much more money if i stay and I will have to work more hrs and weekends and lots more responsibility. I have to tell them tomorrow if I really want to leave. What should I do. I feel terrible that i told them yes....but the dr's office is depending on me too!!!!???? I just want to be happy.... do with what brings you happiness. it seems as though your heart is working at the doctor's office, so let your current job know that although you accepted the position, you have reconsidered and would be your best interest to leave and accept the job at the doctor's office. i believe true motivation to do a job will be more fulfilling where your heart's desire is. sounds like the first company thinks alot about your work to offer you a better position i would try to get more money or move on to the drs office good luck write down the pros and cons of each job on a sheet of paper, and go with the one that has more pros, hope it helped good luck...... The doctor's office. It's obvious from the way you talk about both jobs. Have fun in your new career path! Follow your heart my sister, you already answered your own ?. If you take the higher position, will you be happier? If it's not paying more and the hours are worse, with more responsiblity? Remember, you have to go there everyday, sometimes see your coworkers more than your own family, so choose wisely. Good luck to you and have a wonderful day. just make what ever you think it will make you happy...go with ur feeling and desire...but think about it very clear to..may be u like the doctor office because you need to change the place that someone make u unhappy in the evidence is when that u said yes at first..but it's ur choice u have to be happy don;t be shy to take one and leave the other....I hope ou good luck If you want to be happy (which sounds like a sane option ;-)), follow your intuition/heart and go work at the doctors office. the first job sounds boring but doctors office would be fun and pays more so go for the doctors office For the right decision between two job offers you do not have tobe "rocket scientist". You liked the job at oil company(except bully manager) because you did not had second job at doctor's office to compare with. Also the employment culture of oil company is not healthy. They recognized bully manager and want you to do her job at less money and with more pressure. Get out of oil company asap and run for the doctor's office where more money and benefits are waiting for you. You admitted that it is an awesome job offer. Do not be trapped in emotional things like "YOU ARE HONOURED ETC." The real honour is peace of mind, respect at the place of work, more money/benefits and guidance from your sixth sense. Good luck. |
