Servers, does it drive you crazy when people mimic what they want while asking for it?

example: can i have a lemon, then they squeeze an imaginary lemon at you.
can i have an extra plate, then they hold their fingers/hands to mimic a circle.
there's more but i'm sure you get the idea.

I dont think this can drive any one crazy, its the way with certain people. I am sure most people doesnt do actions - only a few and most does this when its crowded and there is so much noise.

Be cool about it and enjoy the gestures and you can even show it back to them so that they know you got the point.

what do they do if its cockaleekie soup?

people would look dumb sayng "squeeze a lemon for me" without doing the hand gestures..they'll just look demanding and serious.

lol I didnt know that bothered people. I do it when Im at a restauraunt where its loud or im sitting deep into a booth and I dont think the person can hear me well. I know its not sign launguage but its just another non verbal communication... lol im going to laugh next time I catch myself unknowingly doing this.

lol and I have to agree it could be worse.... I had a crazy lady throw coffee at me once when I worked at starbucks... another person showed up after we were closed pounded on the doors and screamed "GIVE ME MY CRACK!!!! WHITE MOCHAS MY CRACK!!"

Just remember who puts the money in your hand and they aren't so crazy at all.
Eccentric maybe, but still they are paying you to put up with them.

It doesn't really bother me, cause I barely notice it. I just assume that those are the people that like to talk with their hands, I probably actually do it when I'm out to eat as well. I dunno, just isn't something that really bothers me while I serve.
