What position should I apply for, for entry accounting/finance?

So heres the deal.

I graduated college in june 07 with a business degree. My internships and my post graduation jobs are all management positions in retail stores. Now,

How do I go about finding jobs that has entry level training for accounting and finance?

Its really annoying because when i post my resume on job sites, I keep getting the same people like retail stores wanting me to be manager which makes sense since thats all my experience but I dont want to be typecasted this way and feel like I need to move on into a different profession.

I'd go with applying with a bank. I wanted to do the accounting thing for awhile (changed my mind later...) and I work for Wells Fargo as a banker. Not only is the pay great and the benefits absolutely superb, my job trained me perfectly to handle and assist with finances. I know all the banking regulations, have acquired an excellent understanding of all sorts of accounts and how they work, and I found my relatives coming to me for financial advice. Plus, my company reimbursed me for any tuition I paid for classes that had to do with a "bank-initiated" career (i.e. accounting). If I had stuck with it, after my degree, I would have just gotten to transfer to an accounting position.

A lot of financial institutions also do internships as well.

Or, check with accounting and finance firms. Though having a degree in finance and/or accounting is usually preferable, if you're good enough of an interviewee and present yourself well - they might be willing to take you under.

And, take initiative. Don't just post your resume and expect them to come to you. Apply specifically to the position you want.
