Is this wage considered high or low for this position?

They are offering me $27 an hour for an assistant chief of finance position.

I have a bachelor's degree in Finance and I have one year of accounting experience. Is this wage just right or is it considered low for this position?

They are located in Los Angeles. Thanks!

Are you interviewing for an assistant chief position, or as an assistant to the chief position? Given one year experience, I think that the second is more likely and this salary would actually be quite good.

seeing as to how you only have 1 year experience under your belt, it seems about right for the Los Angeles area

right.
verry good.
like it usually is that much after you have worked there a while.
also in cali jobs payy less but thats really good def. take it..

good luck

That's $55,000 a year.

Pffft.

In Omaha, maybe.

Considering the plight of the L.A. area economy right now I would grab the money and run.

In LA for that money I would not get out of bed !!!!

You can do a lot better so use any of the numerous web-sites to find a better post.

if there are benefits, like medical and dental coverage it is good, given your level of experience.

it is a little low for the cost of living in LA

I don't personally know the cost of living in LA but it sounds like an entry level position and 50-60K per doesn't sound like a bad start anywhere. Good luck

Check out Hot Jobs or Salary Survey.com...They will give you ballpark figures for what you should be making...It won't be specific to LA...I would say that's a bit low...but I make $27 in my field which I know is low for someone with my background...but am satisfied. PEACE & GOOD LUCK!

The average for all "Management, business, and financial" workers in the LA area as of April 2007 is $38.49 +/- $1.42

The average for all full-time "Financial managers" in the LA area as of April 2007 is $39.20 +/- $3.10

More information about the job description would be very useful finding the most accurate number.

Thanks,
JM

It will be based on what your responsibilities are, size of the company, etc. However, I think that this is a good salary for someone of your experience and educational background. Are their any "perks" that increase the monatary value of this position? You may want to take those into account as well.

Generally to qualify for this position, you have several years of experience. A chief of finance easily makes 200K+ in the LA area, but its hard to say exactly what an assistant chief would make without defining what your role is.

take the job.You are lucky to have it offered to you.200,000
people have lost their jobs(financial workers).Get all the experience you can get.Triffid
