Applying to the same place, for the same position, again?

I applied for a bank teller job at US Bank a few weeks back, but they told me, after an interview, that the position had already been filled. I just found out today that another full-time bank teller position is open at another US Bank branch (in the same city). Should I apply, even though the last place turned me down?

I guess my question is a bit misleading. It isn't the same BRANCH but it's the same COMPANY.

Yes, because the person who get your resume may not be the same person who received it before.

Why not it can't hurt! Go for it.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again....if you don't succeed again, then maybe stop trying to be something you will never get to be.

I'd find out if the reason you didn't get the first job was because another applicant was deemed better than you after thge interview, or if you did or said something that took you out of the running. You should always ocntact someone after a rejection and see if there was something you could have done differently or said differently. If there was a better candidate, keep applying, sooner or later, you'll be the best and most relaxed applicant they have.

i've been in banking a long time; i say go for it! were you in contact with a recruiter the last time or only with the branch? your best bet is to keep in contact with the regional recruiter, via emails for example. and if you can, swing by the branch that has the opening and ask for the manager; take that time to leave a copy of your resume in person (usually the manager is referred applicants by the region online; you'll make yourself stand out) and briefly introduce yourself, let him/her know you've applied and you would appreciate being considered for the position. make sure when you stop in its not busy!!!

best of luck, future boring banker! :)

yes you must apply . stay positive.

There will be a place on the application to let them know that you applied recently and where.

Also, make sure you explain your unique situation to them when you go in for your interview.

But, by all means, apply for the position if you want it.

sure.. no harm in it
