When married credit becomes one?

Is it true when you get married your credit and debts become one? If I had bad credit or had outstanding debts would his credit score go down once we got married? Im just curious because Ive heard this and I dont understand how a debt that happened before you were married could hurt the others credit.

Not true. See our Lesson 5 video on http://videocreditscore.com which covers credit and marriage

As long as you keep separate credit cards, and don't co-mingle your debts, they remain the liability of the person who brings them. His score will only go down if you get a new joint card and you or he starts to pay late or max out on that card as that card will report to both your credit files.

ya thats how it works .. unless a prenuptial maybe

people who say otherwise are mistaken. my ex got very mad at me for damaging her credit score this way.
