Title loan, check 'n go loan places? |
My best friend, seperated, not legally seperated, just seperated, from her husband has been asked by the husband to allow him to use the title to the car he is driving for a title loan. The title is in both their names, so she has to sign paperwork at the loan office, but supposedly not loan paperwork, but sign off her interest in this title and also then they have made her legally aware the title now has a lein. SO, our question really is can they or would they come back on her for the actual loan, since they are still legally married, as the husband and her aren't well known for their ability to pay their bills. And these title loan and check loan places aren't very reputable in their loan practices either. The husband originally begged for the loan and her cooperation for Christmas gifts for his daughter (not theirs together), now that Christmas passed he wants the money to go visit an uncle on his death bed. An intersting tidbit on the daughter's Christmas; when she return from her bio-mom's the one gift he gave her said from Dad, not Santa, so she freaked out that Santa got her nothing and was bawling. He pled the inexperienced parent and was unaware Santa was supposed to be the from on the gift tag. I would say "Don't Do It!" but in the end, if he fails to pay, they will come after the car. It will be a loss to both of them financially, and especially to whomever actually drives the car. Don't go stay away from the light they really fcuk you over. Don't do it. Yes, they'll go after her. She'll also have the mark on her credit and be without a car when he defaults on the loan repayment. dont do it if he uses the title for a car and it is in both names and he dont pay then the car is the title loans car or the other person on the title would have to pay the loan off A loan is a loan is a loan. If she wants no responsibility, she needs to make sure she is not in a community property state and then she needs to "sell" the car to him. He needs to get a new title with just his name. Then, he can get the title loan. If they don't pay the title loan, they repo the car. Just like a regular loan. Wow. I would keep my money far from them. |
