Credit advice?

Does anyone have a good source on how to bounce back from bad credit and get the bills paid off?

Are credit counseling business any good to help a person out???

I am not sure of what you are asking, but I can say that if you have out of control debt, maybe you would want to try CCCS or a similar service. Be aware of the fact that by using these services you are destroying your credit, at least temporaily. Most people who use these programs have ruined credit for up to 10 years. But, the good news is that they can usually work with your creditors to get your debt reduced, lower interest rates, etc. It is very much like filing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and most lenders will look at it that way. Of course, you ought not be looking for loans if you are in need of CCCS type of services.

Your question is too narrow. You get bills paid off with money-if you have it you pay them. As far as credit is concerned, you have to 'ork your way back'. Go to your creditors, explain your situation and request they work with you on an acceptable that you and your creditor(s) can live with.

You can't wave a magic wand and set things right. It took a while to foul up your credit - it will take while to get it back. Contact the credit bureau(s) and read what your report is, and what your credit score is (on report a year is free, according to federal law) and it may point you toward the ones you need to work with the most.
