Can you return a Home Depot gift card for cash?

I have a $50 gift card,and I don't need anything from Home Depot.Can I get cash back?

Even if you are the one that purchased the card, there is no refunds on a gift card. The card can only be used to purchase products in the store. Also you won't be able to buy something with the card and expect to return it for cash, a store credit will be issued for that return.

Nope. Try selling it on eBay. You won't get the full $50, probably $40, but at least it's still cash.

Probably not, unless you bought it and have the receipt - maybe then.

Surely there must be something you can use - cleaning stuff, lightbulbs, batteries, a couple of small tools, a nice plant pot -- go look around, they have lots of things besides hardware and building supplies.

But if not, you can probably sell it to someone for 40 or 50 dollars even though the fine print may say it is non-tranferrable.

No place will allow you to exchange a gift card for cash. Home Depot is no different. Even if you buy something and then return it right away they will put the return back onto a gift card for you. I would suggest either put it on eBay, find a friend who will give you cash, or wait until you need something (there are always a need for light bulbs).

think the stores realsie if they allowed this they would actually be losing money and alot if everyone started to return them .
