Specifics on credit needed for American Express Gold Card?

What are the specifics for obtaining an American Express Gold Card? (ex: Credit Score, Income, Credit Length)

Most importantly I'm looking for how long you need to have credit for.

I meant the gold card that American Express issues, not a bank.

The minimum credit score for that card is 710. The reason you didn't find anything on their website about approval requirements is that AMEX doesn't publish their exact formula for granting credit. It's a fairly common practice for financial institutions to keep their trade secrets.

You might try applying for their Green card which doesn't have as high standards as the Gold. Once you establish good credit with Amex, in a year or so you might get an offer to upgrade to a Gold card.

well it depends on how long you have had the card for and whats your credit score

these are issued by major banks. not sure AmEx directly issues any Gold cards.

since requirements change, what you can do is apply and find out if they like you. if they don't, you can then ask the branch officer for more details [if they have any -- the decision may be centralized somewhere else].
