What is Monopoly Money?

What is Monopoly Money?

It's an allusion to the Parker Brothers' game Monopoly, in which players move around a board and purchase property in order to eventually own everything and win the game.

The money used in the game is in denominations of $1, $5, $20, $50, $100, and $500.

The money used in the game has no value in the real world, and therefore, when talking about something that has no value, we use the term "Monopoly Money" to describe it.

Hope that answers your question.

Money with no real value ...
Kay

Fake or play money from the actual Monopoly board game. It has no real value.
