does anyone know anthing about ohio legalizing gambling??? I know they were considering allowing Keno machines via closed circuit TV but that is it. so far nothing. they have been trying for years and last year the voters denied that from happening. so its going to be a while. There is nothing really going in Ohio currently in Ohio, in regards to legalizing gambling. There had been a proposal to legalize some gambling at the horse tracks around the state, but voters very soundly defeated that proposal on the ballot. A Native American tribe had proposed opening up a casino near Monroe, Ohio (a Tribal Lands type deal), but again, it looks like that is going to get squashed as well. So, Michigan and Indiana (and it looks like Kentucky soon) will continue to get rich off of Ohio gambling dollars, for now at least. Ohio wouldn't be legalizing gambling unless they put it on a public ballot. They are looking at a site near Wilmington for a casino, but it would have to be approved first. I don't see the people around that area voting for it, because it's a rural area. |
