Im 16 years old in Chicago Il i was wondering what jobs are availiable or where to find out whos hiring?

i woulldnt mind doing sales jobs like in clothing stores or maybe stuff with science cause im interested in taht... also want to kno how much they pay

You could check Craigslist, or, like I did back when I was 16, go to the local mall, and ask at each store you think you may want to work at, for the manager, and for an application. If they give you one, fill it out on the spot. Ask if they are hiring, and be prepared to be interviewed on the spot. Review how to make change (such as the easiest way to make 41 cents is one quarter, one nickel, dime, and penny). One manager did this to me, only to see if I could do this under pressure, and I got the job.

First though, check out local fast food places. They are good training grounds and are great places to put on a future resume, as they have a fast-paced work environment. I started at MacDonald's, and if you can handle that, you can handle ANYTHING! :) Good luck!

There are 2 great programs that assist youth get jobs. Jobs For Youth and Chicago Kid Start. They assist with job training skills/readiness and job placement. The jobs are probably minimum wage. The minimum wage in Illinois is as follows:

Currently $7.25

On 7/1/08 will increase to $7.75
On 7/1/09 will increase to $8.00
On 7/1/10 will increase to $8.25
