I am planning to move to Cicero, IL in the next couple of months...is Cicero a safe neighborhood?

um....not really.
but, if you have no choice, maybe stop/call
the police department and ask what the best areas are, unless you have a place already.
If you don't have a deposit for an apartment or haven't closed on a mortgage...you may want to double think. Might be better off moving into the city.

I really would pick another town, there are alot of bad towns so do your research. You can move to a decent street and the next street over will be trouble. Ask the police,township,city hall and churches about the neighborhood you want to move to before moving. It's better to be safe then sorry. Good luck

Not really- a lot of crime going on there. You may be better off going a bit north (Oak Park, Elmwood Park) or more southwest.

My grandmother was raised in Cicero 70 years ago when the area was Italian. Back then she thought it unsafe.She is no longer with us. If I were to move to Cicero I would need a good reason. If I were mayor or police chief that would be a good reason.

I have to admit as a past Cicero resident, I don't feel that anything North of 26th is. If you have done your research you know about the gangs, crooked politicians, prostitution motels and bad school system. Depends on your location. I grew up there and left years ago and it has gone down, down, down. Why don't you email me your location. Is it for a job or family? I would not raise a baby/child there.
