Minimum wage question for Chicago.?

What is the minimum wage in Chicago first of all? $7.50 right?

And is it legal for an employer to pay you 7 an hour for a 2 week training period?

yes, its 7.50, unless your job allows you to accept tips, then it can be lower. & idk about the second question, sorry.

Minimum wage is $7.50 but for any job that is tip oriented, like a bartender or waiter, you will make a much less hourly wage. However, even if you are training at a job that you make tips at, you should still be making $7.00 hourly. When you are training, you are not making tips, so that would legally compel your employer to give you the minimum minus .50 because there is a 90 day training wage, if your employer chooses. Too bad they're cheapies. :(
