Where can i find a recycling place in chicago where they pay for the recycled items?

im trying to fundraise for my school

You don't say what area of Chicago you live.

here's a link to some.....http://yellowpages.superpages.com/listin...

You may want to make phone calls first.
Some of them may only buy larger quantities from
businesses.

On the north side for aluminum cans there is a truck set up behind CVS at Higgins and Merrimac.
Only open weekdays.

GOOD LUCK and

THANKS!!! for recycling.

Just a thought... but if you're collecting all this stuff it might actually make more $$ for your organization if you turn recyclables into art or usable crafts. There are tons of neighborhood art fairs coming up in the summer that you can probably sell lots of stuff at. I know at the Bucktown Arts Fest the past few years there has been a lady selling jewelry from recyclables and copper wire... really cool stuff! Tell them that you're raising money for your school and they may not even charge you for a booth.

Also, you could partner with a local non-profit for a joint fundraiser... like http://www.GrowingHomeInc.org and you could make planters for them or something. Or http://www.theenterprisingkitchen.org and you could make soap dishes or buckets (with a little soldering maybe).

There's also an annual local fashion show just for recyclables. http://news.medill.northwestern.edu/chic...

Who knows? Maybe you have several artists who could show off some talents or a future business leader that gets their start by helping out here. The U.S. and the world need more kids like you. I think it's great that you're doing this... all the best of luck to you on your venture!
