Please help, i'm looking for a venue to have my wedding reception at know any elegant,reasonably priced places

will allow my own catering.

Go to Zhivago in Skokie . Olech is the owner. The place has music, serves food and alcohol all night, is elegant as well. I had a wedding there and everyone said it was one of the best ones they been to. You can rent the whole place or split it with other people too.

I cannot reccomend, but tell them the event is a family reunion. Once they hear the word wedding, prices jump a lot.

You can try the Chicago Park District. South shore cultural center and the Point are pretty nice and reasonable locations. Not to sound rude but have you considered eloping? I think that some people try to have weddings when they don't really have the money to do so. Your marriage is really about the two of you. Consider using the money to start your lives together on the right track. Weddings are so stressful. I believe that a wedding is best done when you can pay someone else to worry about all of those details. You give them a budget and your desires and they make it happen by asking you 'yes and no' questions.
I just think that a wedding should be about the couple and not about impressing others. Please ask yourself if your true intentions are to 'wow' people and if you really have the budget to do so!
