Question about the CTA and Metra?

Quick question, are you allowed to drink on the trains in Chicago?

Technically, you are not allowed to eat or drink on the train or bus. It's right there on the signs. However, the chances of you getting in trouble for it are extremely slim, because people eat and drink on the CTA all the time. As for alcohol, brown bag it and probably no one will notice. But remember it IS illegal, so you CAN get in trouble if somebody wants to punish you.

As for the Metra, drinking alcohol was legal the last time I rode it, which was about two years ago. As far as I know, it still is.

I grew up in Chicago and I have been using the CTA for years. Yes you can. You can even eat your lunch there. I don't know if you can with booze though.

yes you can drink. i also think that you cannot drink alchol, since it is a city transportation unit.
