Does anyone know if an employment agency or temp agency in Chicago will find you work if you dont drive?

As long as you go to a temp agency in the city, you'll most likely be placed at a location that is accessible by public transportation. Kelly Services would be my #1 recommendation. They have a pretty good reputation for placing people in temporary positions.

There are temp positions available in any location for those who don't drive. You should state this when you apply, if you go in person, or be sure to let them know.

Or, you can wait until they offer you a position, and inform the agency at that time. The sooner the better, though. That way you don't receive a flood of offers you can't accept, instead of only receiving those that you will.

You are not required to accept any assignment that is unsuitable (which is the great thing about temp jobs) for any reason--including distance. Nor are you required to go any place that you prefer not to.

This may or may not affect the offers you receive, because pretty much everyone would like a position that they don't have to travel very far to get to. Sooner to work, sooner home.

Sign up with several agencies, to increase your chances of getting an assignment in the areas you prefer to work in.

I am not driving (haven't had a car in quite some time), and I have rarely accepted a temp position that I couldn't get to quickly (within 60 minutes), or easily. at those times, I would usually ride with a co-worker.

Probably, as long as you have some kind of transportation, i.e. bus, train etc. They will look probably at how far you live from the place of employment and how long would it take you to get there.
