Moving to the Chicago area...Cant Find a JOOBB!?

Currently I reside in Norfolk, VA. I recently graduated in May. In my efforts to continue on with school and become a successful young individual, I鈥檝e made a life changing decision that could affect me in many ways. I鈥檝e decided to move to the Great City of Chicago. With knowing little about the area, but that its home to a very famous basketball player and a talk show host, I truly believe that Chicago will be a great place to call HOME.
As my moving date slowly approaches (Dec 28th), I鈥檓 preparing myself for the transition from the suburbs/country setting into the city life. I鈥檝e been looking into places to work and of course where to stay. I haven鈥檛 really been successfully quite yet in my preparation.
I need assistances with locating a JOOOBBB!! Entry-level, clerical, admin. Open to anything that will get me by with rent and bills. Have any advice! I havent been successful quiet yet. My move is slowly apporaching. PPPPLLLEESSAE HEELLLPPP!!

Check Careerbuilder.com. Also did you graduate from college or highschool. If you graduated from college there are many brokerage houses (i.e. Merryll Lynch) that are always looking for help. There are many job opportunities in Chicago. Try National City Bank They are always hiring and looking for new employees because there turnover rate is so high. Best luck to you!

Look on craigslist.com for both your apartment and employment..... check out hich areas you would like to live in..... some areas are a lot cheaper but arent exactly ideal (I'd recomend stying away from englewood and actually most of the south side...hmm I'd also recommend staying away from bridgeport...the area is okay during the day but not very minority friendly. I'd recommend the north side.....Good Luck

I also have a brother that lives in Chicago when he is not on the road acting. He lived on the North side of downtown off of Clark street. He said the main thing you want to have is easy access to train or bus. It is very hard to get around town in a car especially when there is a shortage of parking.
Chicago is such a fun place to play, but it is definitely not like Norfolk. There is a lot of hustle and bustle. Be careful... Hope this helps.
