Can anyone tell me how to apply for section 8 for Chicago?

How can I apply for section 8 for Chicago while I am in another state? I am going to nursing school in Oklahoma and will be done in July. When I graduate and pass the exam I want to relocate to Chicago. Should I start the paper work now for section 8 or do I need to be living in Chicago?

I think the previous poster is a jerk...but anyway....Usualy it's best to apply as early as possible but you would need to live in the state in which youre applying for section 8 (unless you already have it, then its transferable). Tha bad new is...Section 8 is closed to everyone except senior citizens in chicago. Its been closed for about 5 years now I believe, it wont reopen for another few years because they're busy relocating everyone from all the recently demolished projects (the demolished just about all of them) I'm a single mom and college student and they told me to come back in about five years. I think that you should be making enough money to stop taking our hard earned tax monry to use for rent...People like myself and family actually have to pay for our own mortgage..maybe you should try and do the same.
