Say you made $56,000 Cdn approx......?

And had the normal amount of tax deducted through work, single and made no RRSP contributions. Dumb question, but would you owe more??

You may not owe more if (a) your employer properly withheld your taxes, (b) if you have no other income (dividend, interest, rental, etc.), and (c) if you are not eligible for other personal exemptions or credits (e.g., rental).

If you had no other income, and worked the whole year, you should be okay without having to pay more, provided the emloyer made the correct deductions (meaning you filled out your TD1 correctly.
