Canada tax return cash income?

I have worked for a small delivery outfit for the past year part time. All of my income was cash. Over the entire year, I made about $6,500 or so...nothing special.

My income was 100% cash. The problem is, I never thought to register a business name or business number (like an independent taxi driver, I was subcontracted) but I DO want to be able to claim the income on my tax filing. How on earth do I do this?

Thank you for the answers so far. I guess I would also like to know if simply reporting on line 104 would be a red flag like reporting moving expenses for example.

you don't need to be a company or have a company name to be self employed.

What matters a lot for you, is did you have expenses diectly related to the income you made
For example, were you required to provide a vehicle for the deliveries?

If you were just paid "under the table" to drive a delivery vehicle owned by others, you would report your income on line 104 of tax form (p-2)

But if you were self employed with using your own vehicle and had expenses directly needed to make the self-employment income
you would report Gross and Net income on Line 162 and line 135 of the tax form (page -2)

If you look in your tax guide, information is written and corresponds to the line you want to know about.

So in the guide, look up Line 162, 135, For Business
or line 104 for other employment income.

Find an accountant who can help you. You do not want an audit in a few years and end up owing the government thousands of dollars. Do it right by getting a professional to calculate your income tax return.

What do you mean by 'red flag'? The fact that you are properly reporting your income is a GOOD thing, not something that CRA would think lead to something else.
