Dividend figures on both T3 and T5?

In one account, I have 'actual amount of eligible dividends' on the T3 as well as the T5. Are these always separate dividends, so I don't have to worry about double counting? Why do some dividends go on the T3 as opposed to T5?

T3 dividend is generally from a trust, while T5 dividned is generally from a corporation. I guess u have to trust your financial institutionts that they prepare the T3 & T5 correctly.

T3 - Statement of Trust Income Allocations and Designations

路 If you received distributions during the year from a trust, including a mutual fund trust, you will receive a T3 slip.
路 Distributions from a trust include interest, dividends, capital gains and losses and foreign incomes.

T5 - Statement of Investment Income

路 If you received investment income during the year from a corporation, you will receive a T5 slip.
路 Investment income includes dividends, interest and foreign income.
路 The T5 slip does not record any capital gains or losses that you may have realized on the sale of investments during the year.
