Tax estimater?

Does anyone know of a good online tax estimator? I juat want a rough estimate of what our eturn will be this year. Or can someone give me one? We had a child last year, we own a house, my spouse made about $35000, $6171 paid to income tax and I made $3500, $156 paid to oncome tax and $6700 on maternity leave. I also have $800 from universal child tax to claim. I live in Alberta. Thanks!

You left out some important information that you require to have this question answered accurately. The missing information would be CPP premiums, EI premiums, union dues if any, work pension plan premiums, if any.
Just using the information you gave your refunds would be around 1300.00 for your husband and around 100.00 for yourself. Once the missing information is included your refunds will go up.
RRSP's should be considered by your husband as well in future years. A lot of people are afraid of RRSP's, but don't be as this is a great tool to reduce tax payable if used correctly.
If I can be of any further help, let me know through this link and I will be glad to assist. I have been in the tax business for over 40 years.

Why don't you just fill in your tax form, line by line until you have the exact amount.

The guide that comes with the tax package, explains every line on the form.

www.ufile.ca

Fill it out for free and file or don't, and wait until you're ready to.

They will tell you exactly what you'll get back. It doesn't take long, and it's idiot-proof (not that you are one, lol)
