Claiming property taxes on form T777?

My wife is a salaried employee and has to have a home office. She is given the T2200 form and one part says 1/8 of her income would have been from commissions. Can I claim property taxes on form T777 when her income is primarily salary and part commission?

Ignore the post above. It is clearly false.

Your wife can claim a % of property taxes as a commissioned employee IF she has sufficient commission income. She will have a box 42 on her T4 reporting the commissions. Complete T777. You should read the guide on claiming employment expenses to learn about the commission limitations.

Salary or commission shouldn't matter. If she was required to maintain a home office as attested to by form 2200, she can deduct costs, including taxes, utilities etc, on that part of the home that is EXCLUSIVELY used for work.
