I had a credit card -Visa- when I was in Canada and I had gambling problems and I used all of it 25000 dolla?

Now, I am moved to another third world country and I really cannot pay them back. When I was gambling I was under stress cuz I had hard time, What should I do?

You won't be able to return to Canada until the debt is discharged. The bank will send it to a collection agency in about a year of not being able to contact you. The collection agency can keep it on your books and credit rating for seven years.

If you come back to Canada at any time during this seven years and use your SIN number it will be noticed by the collection agency and they will hunt you down.

You owe them that money. You can pay a little at a time.

Wait for them to catch up with you, and then pay them 20 bucks a month. I really wouldn't worry about it unless you ever decide to go back.

If you're not a Canadian citizen or resident and you aren't planning to return to Canada soon (within the next 5 years or so) just forget about it (I betcha that was on your mind all along, wasn't it?) They can't hurt you or file criminal charges, because it's a civil suit, they can't grab your belongings or garnish your wages because you're no longer in the country and they're not the mafia so they won't send a hit man after you... As a betting man THIS is the best bet you've ever made....

Either make payment arrangements on it or can you file bankruptsy? (I don't know if that's an option in countrys other than the US ... )

This isn't a tax question - you would be better off asking this in the credit area.
