How long should income tax records be saved? (In Ontario)?

How long should income tax records be saved? (In Ontario)?

You have to save your income tax records for six years after the most recent Notice of Assessment or Notice of Reassessment.

You could file Form T137, Request for Destruction of Books and Records. You can destroy your records if they give you permission. This only applies to records for income tax purposes.

FOREVER!!!! Never get rid of them, anything could come up, just find a nice little storage place thats water tight and fireproof.

most people save them for seven years but when you are called to the IRS they can go back as far as 10-14 years but they also have there records I hope that helps.
