Can I contribute to my Canadian RRSP in USD? How does this work with respect to the contribution limit?

Please list references.

The Canadian RRSP issuer will likely issue you a tax receipt in Canadian dollars, at the exchange rate on the date you made the contribution.

If you take the money out, you will be taxed in Canadian dollars at the prevailing rate at the time the money is taken out.

If you take money out or make contributions at various times in the year, you (or the issuer of the T4RSP slip) may use an average exchange rate. Source(s): http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/individuals...
