How do I get GST checks?

How do I get GST checks?

When you file your annual T1 personal income tax return, on the first page there is a box to indicate whether you wish to apply for the GST credit; simply check the yes box.

Note that the credit is calculated based on the number of children you have, if you have a spouse or common law partner, and your family net income. Once your family net income exceeds $30,936 (for 2006) the credit is reduced. If your family net income is high enough, you will not be entitled to receive a GST credit.
