What form do you complete if you are non-resident landlord in Canada? |
I live outside of Canada, but I'm Canadian. I own a house in Canada and rent it out and I know I'm supposed to complete a certain tax form. However, I'm not sure the exact one. Do you know which one it is? You need to file a tax return under Section 216 of income tax act. Do you have a rental agent to help you rent out the property and collect rent? If yes, they may withhold part of the rent for tax payment already. Check with your agency if this is the case. Good luck. |
