Old Night Club?

not sure where to ask this but here it goes: Many moons ago, i used to goto this night club in Cambidge (near Alewife T ) called Faces. Place was packed every night. All of a sudden it closed. Why did it closed, and why does the vacant building still stand after almost 20yrs w/o any effort in converting it into another business/residential prop.??

I ask cuz i drive by it everyday and it's just sad to see it.. Can it really be 20 yrs. ? i'm 33now and remember going there in high school.

It's funny but before I even opened this question, I had to assume this would be what the question was about. I wonder the same thing ALL the time. It really has been vacant for about 20 years now. There was a time when there was a lot of crime around the Alewife T station, and all those stores over there have recently been redone in an effort to make the city a nicer place. I don't know if this has anything to do with it. More importantly, why doesn't someone do something with the building!!

well your showing your age however. p;ace was shut down to due drugs and violence. But they were at times fun as well, at least back then. I had some great memories of that place. as for why it has'nt been picked up by a buyer for a hotel or other venture is anyones guess. As it is it is an eye sore
