Name of any place near Boston, Mass, that was rural during the 60's?

In Bedford Mass. now down the road from the big Burlington Mall, most of the area was farms. In the early 1960s, when a research park was built on the corner of Rte 62 part of the land was held back as potato fields and pastures by the original owner for years until the research companies needed it for an antenna field.

Basically anyplace outside of the rte 128 loop would have been considered rural
