Where in Austin, TX would you propose or would love to be proposed at?

I'm still new to the area and though I've explored, I'd love to get more input from other people who know the area better. :)

a simple garden area..nothing major.

Personally it would need to be a spot that was personal to us as a couple, but for someone else I would recommend Mount Bonnell.

I agree w/ myview. I'm quite fond of Mt. Bonnell, but I absolutely love NASCAR, so being proposed to @ the race track would actually be what I would prefer.

i would look for a spot that "speaks" to you.

Mt. Bonnel is the simple answer and she may know what's coming. I have brought a couple of girls there for a first kiss.

What if you rowed out onto town lake and did it in the boat? or what if you did it under the falls at Hamilton pool. Make sure it is open at that time!
or what if you asked her and then jumped off a cliff at paleface park....or jumped in together and proposed in mid air!

just some lame ideas to think about.

I've lived in Austin since the early 80's and I agree that Mt. Bonnell is a great place - however, it is also the obvious place.
If you're into the outdoors, why not take a little hike on the Barton Creek Greenbelt and propose at the creek. Secluded, lovely and it will be there for (hopefully) many generations to come so you can take your kids and tell them how it all started. Below is the link to the city's park system and trails and preserves.
There are so many beautiful and secluded places that you can find and enjoy together.
