Our Austin, TX property was assessed at 90% increased value, and the taxes sky rocketed. Isthere a legal cap? |
We want to know if there is a legal cap on how much property value assessments can increase your taxes You can definately appeal the increase. I have some friends who live downtown, east side. Thier little house in east Austin that was worth very little when they bought it 100 years ago (slight exageration) is now worth 1.2 million. That's crazy, but a developer just built brand new condos next door. Luckily, they are elderly so the taxes do not increase. But it's crazy here. |
