How would i do this?

well lately i've been getting all these used computer parts and i figure that there's a way i can turn a profit on them.... how would i do this? i know that i could put together a system and sell it but could i make money selling individual parts? what kind of stuff would i need to test and clean all the parts? do i need to put all the parts in a working computer to check or is there another way? how do i figure out how much to charge for these computers/parts? thanks!

ok..start with cleaning...Here is a great website. If the component you are trying to clean is not on this list, google it and you will find a way to clean it.

Yes you can make money selling the parts, but you have to know what you are talking about as far as the shape that the pieces are in and so forth.

As far as testing..NO CLUE HERE, but go to frys. If you are in Austin, you should be able to make it to the one up North and just go in and talk to them. They are very helpful and will have what you are looking for. If the equipment is too expensive..go home and look for it online, but you will at least know what you need.

I would look at ebay, craigslist and any other used computer parts website to get a comparison of what you are selling to figure out how much you can get for the pieces.

GOOD LUCK.

Used computer parts are taken out for a reason. However hope is NOT LOST on turning a profit. Jewelry my man, Jewelry. OR christmas ornaments. OR...embed them in wooden furniture. These would probably give you an additional hobby too. Sculpture is another avenue. OR....dang...how about PET COLLARS.... You don't say what they are but keyboards have a lot of things that would be good in jewelry....imagine a xmas tree swag in computer letters...coool...A TECH TREE...go for it....and email some pics when you do. Or if you have techincal questions give me a email and I will try to help...I know lots of people who know how to do things.
