Georgia Rector, 82, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, in Lubbock.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Vurn Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.

Mrs. Rector was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Montgomery. She attended public school in Wellington. She was a resident of Amarillo for 64 years, moving here from Matador. She was a longtime member of Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church.

She married Samuel Rector Jr. in 1937, and they were the parents of 16 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include Helen Martin and husband, C.M., Carolyn Rector and Johnnie M. Davis, all of Amarillo, Linda Mims of Seaside, Calif., Nola McGowan and husband, Jimmy, of Covington, Ga., Gertrude Pyatt and husband, Ambrose, of Graham, Wash., Mary A. Anderson of Tacoma, Wash., Shirley Chisley and husband, Richard, of Roy, Wash., Fred Rector and wife, Rita, Jerry Rector, Robert Rector and wife, Alice, and Ralph Rector, all of Amarillo, Marion Rector and wife, Penny, of Henderson, Nev., Raymond Rector and wife, Mary Lou, of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Major Rector of Tacoma; a brother, Leon Powell of Amarillo; a sister, Gladys Fisher of Houston; 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
