Is Austin Texas a good place to live and start a career?

I will be graduating college next May and my boyfriend and I have really been considering moving to Austin, Texas. We were just wondering what it's like there. We currently live in a rather large college town, and know that Austin is also a college town, but we're looking to live somewhere with a bigger mix of people. Not just college aged students.

Austin is definately more than a college town; having the state government and the hi-tech industry in town sees to that. The main problem with Austin is jobs though. Because Austin has a reputation as a beautiful place to live and lots of UT grads never leave; the job market can be very tough.
