Why is T-Mobile charging so much for unauthorized third party charges, i.e. ring tone, wall paper, etc?

I recently found that T-Mobile, which I have had phone services with for 3 years, was charging me in excess of $9 ea. month for third party vendors for things I didn't request or use. The only way to opt out (which I would have had I known I was being charged) was to send an email "Stop" to these vendors. T-Mobile won't reimburse for all these charges as they claim I authorized them. This is false and I feel ripped off. I plan to cancel my contract with them as soon as possible. Has this happened to anybody else?

I did not at anytime ever respond or request free ring tones, wallpaper or that sort of thing, so this was not authorized use of my phone number.

T-Mobile SUCKS!!!! Hasn't happened to me b/c i use Nextel b/c they are awesome! Only company with working service during ALL of the hurricanes last year (I'm in FL.).

You probably did use them w/o knowing it. Anytime you see those commercials on TV that tell you to text 44113 and type a message for information/ring tone/ wall paper etc you are agreeing to join their service for a minimum charge per month. I don't blaim T-Mobile for not reimbursing you because someone with your phone in hand had to authorize the charges.
