I Don't Know What To Do About My Job?

My job used to be amazing. I woke up in the mornings, jumping out of the bed and ready to be at the office. The company is still small and growing. Now that we have added a few good people and the company is starting to expand, my boss who is the owner, has been a TOTAL asshole to me. Not a day goes by that I am not talked down to or made to feel like I am one inch tall. I am at an utter stand still and am fighting the urge to want to quit. He is such an *** and won't quit hounding me on a daily basis. It seems like the bigger and better the company is, the worse off I am with him. I just don't know what to do. Plus, on top of everything, he cut my pay and now i'm not even being compensated for the hell I am being put through. Does anyone have any advice for me? I just don't know what to do!

if you are not happy with your job, just quit it. look for other jobs wher you will be happier.

I would have a discussion with your boss about your feelings. Maybe he doesn't realize that he is being a jerk. Just try to be nice and civil and constructive (ie- don't run in and call him an ***). If it doesn't improve, I would find another job. Life is too short to be miserable at your work.

Tell him to stick his job, the success has gone to his head.

Your boss may be taking out his frustrations on you because he trusts you and feels comfortable with you, and the growing company may be intimidating to him. Or he may just be a total jerk. You won't know for sure till you talk to him, calmly. Stick to the facts--- explain what he has done to upset you and don't let emotions get in the way. If that doesn't improve things, then you should start writing your resumes.

Sounds like he's trying to run you off. Life's too short to feel like that every day. Get your ducks in a row and move on. Or you could stay and go postal.

Life is too short to be miserable. Especially at work...because we spend a big part of our day there. Unless you make 6 figures and it's just a must-have great job...I say ditch the loser company. Don't waste your life there. There are many more jobs. Life's too short.

Just quit. i believe that u r not happy so. You can find anther company with skill u have now. Thats enough. Dont stress your life girl. Its your world ok.

Hostile Environment
A hostile workplace environment can violate Title VII even if there are no employment or economic effects if that environment unreasonably interferes with an individual鈥檚 work or work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.

As opposed to quid pro quo sexual harassment, the employer is liable only if it knew or should have known that the conditions existed. Also as opposed to quid pro quo, the harassers do not have to be supervisors for the organization to be found guilty. In fact, the harassers do not even have to be employees of the organization. Customers, suppliers, independent contractors, and so forth can all create a hostile work environment. Activities such as sexual or derogatory jokes or remarks, offensive physical contact, sexually oriented horseplay, posting of offensive or pornographic material, inappropriate emails, solicitation of sexual favors, and so forth might lead to hostile environment claims.

The courts have consistently ruled that such behaviors and activities must be severe or pervasive to be considered harassment. The Supreme Court has ruled before that a "reasonable person" test must be used to determine whether harassment has occurred. This means that the environment must be one that a "reasonable person" would find abusive. Examples of environments that might be considered abusive are ones that

Prevent advancement in one鈥檚 career.
Result in constructive discharge. Constructive discharge occurs when the work environment is so hostile that a reasonable person would quit.
Affect the psychological well-being of the victim.
Detract from the individual鈥檚 work performance.

Just look for another job... with a larger company.

They have more professional attitude and rules..

ask what he wants grom you & why you get the abuse you do. is he getting a big ego because of the success? get dirt on him before you depart so that you can cover yourself or retaliate.

I had the same problem over 10 years ago. My boss was so disrespectful towards me when I was doing a great job, finding errors. etc. Other managers hugged me for saving their necks, he gave me a hard time. After I quit, I found out that he was embezzling money from the company and all the stuff I was doing was preventing him from getting away with it!

It sounds like a hostile working environment to me. You may want to contact TWC and ask for advice or the lawyer referral service.

On the other hand, communication goes a long way. You might want to try communicating in a different manner from which you had been. Perhaps if he understood your situation/job details/etc. a bit better he would be not so much of a jerk.

You need to decide if the situation is bad enough for you to leave or if the "relationship" is salvageable. Clearly, talking things out is always a good idea but always in a respectful way by trying to be collaborative and finding a solution to your interpersonal issues. First, ask yourself if you have changed in your interaction with him? You might find out that you are 50% of the problem...
