Good Bed and Breakfast in Austin, TX?

Can someone recommend a good Bed and Breakfast in Austin, TX? I plan to stay there with my wife over a weekend for her birthday and our wedding anniversary.

Mansion at Judges Hill - Super elegant, this bistro hotel is a Bed and Breakfast on vitamins! The elegant surroundings evoke the feel of an old-fashioned resort hotel. The public areas are immaculate, and the dining is top-notch. (My Mother in Law is still talking about our dining experience there!)

It is also a historic landmark.

Looking for something a bit more low-key, try:

Carrington's Bluff. This is also a historic building, tucked away under the trees. The rooms have more of that "B and B" feel, with cozy chairs and wardrobes in many rooms.

If fun and funky is your style:

The Austin Motel is one option to consider, it is centrally located - with easy access to downtown and South Congress.

Originally an old-fashioned 'motor court," the Austin Motel has been converted into funky-urban-motel. (You never know who you might run into pool-side!)

Thanks, I wasn't sure if you were interested in going outside of Austin. If you have the time, the Charming Inn in Fredricksburg is another option. It is a mini-house, with a private hot-tub... and they deliver breakfast right to your door. Report It

Best one I ever got was there, in Charis Court...two weeks FREE, plus tickets to Vince Young's last home game...BUT the host was one of best friends. Sorry, Charlie!

Consider the Messina Hof winery in College Station. It's a two hour drive from Austin, but the Bed and Breakfast is fabulous. They have a 100-acre estate, a chef on staff, and 10 beautiful guest rooms. They also have spa services available. And of course, the winery is the best winery in Texas, and has several award-winning wines (and a daily wine-tasting!). They also frequently have Vinter's dinners, and Murder Mystery dinners. And if you go in July/August, you can participate in the grape picking/stomping. My husband and I have been several times, including our last anniversary - I highly recommend it!
