Im 16 and want to get emancipated what do i need to do for that?

my mom is in jail and might be there for awhile, but i was living with my boyfriend and his parents until here recently when i had to move into a connections shelter for boys and s

i cant get a job in the shelter i am in

Money and a lawyer.

Go ask the surpreme court.

Get a job, a lawyer, and try to find an apartment.

give reasonable evidence that you can support yourself and contribute to society

go to court

What dose that mean?

good luck hon

you have to go to the local courthouse and ask them for details..

or try looking online

Check on the net to see if you can get some free legal help, then ask a lawyer what needs to be done.

You need 3 things:
1. a good lawyer
2. a steady job
3. a place to live in
4. maybe a roommate (might help out a bit if she/he is older but not too old)

first get a job while there and keep saving up show the people that you can be on your own then get into an apt that deals with income based housing the main point is to save money showing them you can be depend

I would suggest first that you have a job if you don't already, because the first step is petitioning the court for emancipation. You will have to go to your nearest court house and ask them for the proper paperwork to fill out. Then when your court date does come up, prove to the judge that you are mature enough and adult enough to take care of yourself on your own if he were to actually grant you the emancipation. Show the judge that you have a job, an apartment lined up to move in, and enough money to pay for all of your bills all by yourself. If you can prove to the judge all of this that you are mature enough, then it's up to the judge if he or she wants to grant you emancipation.

i don't know what emancipated means but good luck!

superior court

Good idea.Just go to the court to define it in a better way.
