I need a job at publix what should i do . what should i do ?

i really need a job i'm 17 and i can't wait to get a job because i'lll feel so much free.

Go to the nearest Publix and apply. The great thing about Publix is this application is online and goes to all area stores and whichever store needs the help that's the one who will call you for the interview.

I would go and talk to the nearest publix manager and see if they are hiring tell them that you are really interested and would like to know if they are hiring then put in the application and then call them to see if they can give u the status of your application

Some grocery chains hire ppl under 18 some do not so call the Publix near you and ask how old you have to be. If Publix does not hire ppl under 18 consider other grocery chains and fast food places or check at www.ajc.com under classified ads for places looking for part time help. Your school counselor may have some ideas too. .

When you go to anywhere to apply be sure you are neat and clean. Wear nice clothes (doesn't have to be ultra dressy but something like chinos or dress pants a nice shirt preferably one that buttons or at least a polo type if you have one for guys similar pants or a nice skirt and top of dress for girls. No slogan shirts please especially nop booze, drug or rebellion slogans. A lot of places are really against those things. Remove any facial rings etc (piercings don't appeal to employers), have clean neat hair cut reasonably if you are a guy. This is not the day for the spiked punk look or the pink and purple hair for either gender. Look like someone your grandma or your mom would be comfortable hiring. Be sure you are squeeky clean including your nails (gals go for a conservative nail look not daggers because they don't look like you are used to working)

Make a list of any jobs you have ever done even babysitting or raking the neighbor's yard or helping in an after school program and any skills you have. Take the name, address, phone number of the place or person you worked for and the dates you worked. You don't need a resume but you do need this info readily available so you can fill in all the blanks you need to fill in on the application. Take names and addresses and phone numbers of 3 adult references (teachers, principal, pastor,neighbor who knows you and has something good to say about you. Ask them for permission before you give their name as a reference.

If you have an interview time be about 5-10 min early and be sure you know where you are going. Showing up late does not make you look like you will be dependable. Speaking of dependability be sure you know how you are going to get to work and how you are going to get home and be sure this will work out the way you plan every work day because no show or late is a good way to get out of a job fast. Be honest in all you put on tha application. They will check and they will do drug tests. That is nothing personal about you. They pretty much always do.

When you talk to the manager or whoever let them offer to shake hands or not. If they do shake their hand firmly but not so hard it hurts or seems exaggerated. Look them in the eye but not like you are staring at them. Be polite of course and go easy on slang. Avoid muttering. Smile. Let us know when you get your job. :)
