How do you get a job in georgia?

How do you get a job in georgia?

Getting a job in GA works about like getting a job anywhere. First you ask everybody you know if there are any openings where they work for anything you have an idea you could do. If they are relatives or good friends and there is an opening you ask them to talk to the boss for you.

You check the classified ads in the paper for help wanteds. You check places like www.,accessnorthga.com and craiglist. Check with the GA labor dept too aka employment office. Check www.thejobsite.org for state merit jobs,. Check websites for local governments too (county and city)

In GA many cos hire entry level workers through temporary employment services so register at as many of them as you can find near you. These services are good for the co bec they handle the screening and the person works for the abency not the co at forst so it doesn't mess up their labpr experience ratings etc. They are good for workers too because they make their money by putting you in a job so they do their best to do it,. As their employee you start building time towards benefits from day one and if a job id really lousy you can ask for a different placement. Temp services are alsom good places to work when you are between jobs, need flexability or need something like yesterday.

Beyond that do some net research and see what companies need the skills you have (for example forklift, construction, computer, bookkeeping whatever) then call or go visit them and apply or look and see if you can apply on line.

You want to look in your word processing program and find sample resumes and make yourself one. Go to www.m-w.com and double check your spelling. Be sure you have things accurate. If your work history is irregular put what you did first instead of putting the dates first. Write doewn names and addresses of at least 3 work references and 3 personal references. Have your act together. Dress neatly and just a little better than you would dress to do the job. Don't apply for aconstruction or chicken farm job in a suit. Do wear clean jeans and T or better yet polo type shirt for that. For an entry office job clean dress pants or chinbos, a solid color shirt that buttons and real shoes with socks. If you have visable piercings or tattoos slip out the rings or studs and wear a shirt that covers the designs. Some hiring managers are turned off by these things. Be absolutely 100% on personal cleanliness including nails and breath. You are selling a product - yourself so be sure to show the co what the benefits of this product are to their company.

Now here's your bonus. A friend of mine is looking for help right now full or part time in marketing. They pay daily and they offer training. You can fiond their ad at http://www.accessnorthga.com/cgi-bin/cla... ad # 3187
