I need a full time job, I just had to leave an over the road driving job and want a local job is anybody out there that can help or know where I can go for a job lead?

If you have a CDL and can also lift some try Sysco and other food brokers, Coke and Pepsi. Cargil (Gainesville GA) uses local drives especially for night shifts. There is a big local delivery place in Oakwood, GA buy I can not remember name of it. Cobb, Fielddale and other poultry companies also hire drivers for feed delivery, poultry pick up, egg pick up etc. Cobb has an office in Cleveland,GA (1 1/2 hrs N of Atlanta and I believe some offices closer in) Fielddale has one place in Murrayville GA and others throughout N GA. Check www.switchboard,.com or the company websites for contact info. Also check the yellow pages or switchboard,.com for courier services. The Oakwood place pays better than Cobb or Cargil. I wish I could rememebr its name. I looked up transport in Oakwood and found a lot of places so there are good possibilities just doing that.

The best paying of all would probably be UPS or Fed EX.

If you do not have CDL the courier services may still be a possibility.

I have a friend who drives a taxi and makes a very good living and I dont think its hard to get a job there because they hired him and hes a loser.

Basically you lease the cab from the cab company who provides a rcab and a radio service for call ins. Generally you have the cab 12 hours a day 7 days a week and can work any of those hours you want (you share the cab with someone else who takes the other 12 hours). You pay for the cab lease and gas, and everything on the meter and tips is yours.
