I live in Jonesboro, Georgia..Does anyone no places that are hiring near my location?

Any job...Warehouse, anything...my boyfriend needs a job quick.

The fastest way to find a job in Jonesboro or metro Atlanta is to try either a temp help service like Kelly Services (888) 222-6495 ask for the light industrial division, 7147 Jonesboro RD
Morrow, GA 30260 Phone: 770-961-8833 ask for ( Industrial Talent ) to find more look up employment agencies, temporary in the yellow pages or check the yellow pages for day labor services like Labor Ready (877) 221-2080. Day labor services pay each day as you work and may have you doing construction clean up one day and warehouse etc the next. You show up early that AM ready to work and hope to catch a job. They don't pay a lot but they do pay daily. Temp help services are a lot steadier work but do not pay each day. Most pay once a week and offer benefits too. A lot of employers are going the temp to permanent route for entry level jobs. That helps them by screening and managing new help. It helps workers by providing quick, steady work and someone who cares that they succeed. He can also check www.ajc.com and look at the Atlanta paper classified help wanted listings. Check out the convenience stores near you too if he is comfortable working with people and handling money and has no offenses on his record because they do a records check and police report on ppl handling their money. It does take a week or so to get working but most of them are usually looking for help especially the ones owned by companies like Circle M and Racetrak as opposed to the ones owned by an individual.

For that type work he won't need a resume but should have a list of where he has worked including company name, boss' name company address and phone the dates he wiorked and what he did. He should also have names, addresses and phone numbers of 3 references (people in good positions in the community who will speak well of him like a pastor, a former teacher , etc). If he was in the service he needs his discharge papers. First impressions count a lot so he needs to wear nice clean casual chinos or jeans without holes if possible or dress pants, a solid color sport shirt is best but at least a clean not torn slogan free tee shirt, be neat as far as hair cut, shave or trimmed beard, personal cleanliness including clean nails even if the job is grubby.

If he has trouble writing an application he can pick up one and take it nback the next day saying he has an interview soon but would like to talk with this place too. He should meet people's eyes directly shake hands firmly but not a powerhouse shake that hurts. A temp service almost always drug tests so he shouldn't take that personally a day labor place generally doesn't. All these places exceot a few day labor places want a phone number so if he doesn't have a phone he needs to arrange with a friend to take job messages for him. Temp services are especially insistant on your own phone so if he gets hired he needs to pick up a cheap trac phone or that type as soon as he can and to not tell them the number he's giving is a friend's phone.
